Nanotechnology Products, Investigations and Applications

Nanoparticles as precursors for alkaline and MH batteries

The object of interest is the original technological processes and reactors for production of metal clusters and nanoparticles. Their chemical composition could contain one, two or more elements selected from a list of 40 elements (Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Pd, Li, Mg, Ca, Sr, Al, Zr, W, Pb, Sb, V, Mo , Sn, Si, Cr, La, Ce,  Sm, Pr, Y,  Nd, Th, etc. boron, nitrogen and hydrogen). Recently, these nanoparticles have been used as precursors for MH electrodes.

Investigations of nanoscale materials

Comparative studies of nanoscaled materials by means of electrochemical, common physicochemical methods, X-ray photon spectroscopic and impedance spectroscopic methods are the subject of many investigations. They include estimation of nanoscaled size, structure, compositions, quantum size effects and self-organisation processes, as well as nanoparticles' properties, which lead to their most appropriate application.

Isotropic and anisotropic metal and intermetal nanoparticles, nanowires, nanorods and nanochains containing hydrogen, boron or nitrogen, with tailored quantum-influenced properties, are synthesized by the boronhydride method. They find application as catalysts and electrocatalysts, as well as in electrochemical energy sources.
