A robot for disinfection of premises was invented by scientists from the Institute of Robotics of BAS

Scientists from the Institute of Robotics of BAS have created a robot for disinfection of premises which can be used to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The innovation is applicable to automated biological decontamination of homes and health facilities, kindergartens and schools as well as all floor surfaces contaminated with multi-resistant bacteria and superbacteria, fungi, spores and viruses. BAS and CNRS have renewed the Agreement on scientific cooperation

The Agreement on Scientific Cooperation between the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), France, was renewed on 27 March 2018 in Paris. Academician Julian Revalski, President of BAS, and CNRS President and CEO Antoine Petit signed the document. The French National Center for Scientific Research is one of the most important research institutions in the world. To meet the great challenges of the present and the future, its scientists explore the living, the matter, the universe and the functioning of human societies. Internationally recognized for excellence, CNRS correlates equally well with both the R&D universe and the wider audience.

Scientists examined the properties of the metal on the reactor hulls of Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant (NPP)

The successful implementation of the project “Estimated Analysis of the Resources in the Reactor Hulls of Units 5 and 6 of Kozloduy NPP based on the results of testing and examination of witness samples” was completed. Determination of activities and neutron fluence of witness samples from 3L assembly of Unit 5 and 2L of Unit 6 of Kozloduy NPP. The results of the project were directly related to the extension of the service lifetime of the reactors in the plant.
