Bulgarian Astronomical Journal
The Bulgarian Astronomical Journal (BAJ) publishes scientific articles from all areas of astronomy, astrophysics and interdisciplinary fields. The journal publishes scientific results from theoretical and observational studies as well as results concerning astronomical instruments. It is of interest to a wide range of readers – professional astronomers, astrophysicists and physicists.
Scientific papers of the following kind are considered for publication in the journal: original articles (including catalogs, atlases, large databases, etc.), surveys, scientific conferences, lectures on scientific forums, schools and seminars as well as extended dissertation abstracts etc. Although the BAJ proposes to publish conference papers in selected issues, the journal will only publish those papers that have successfully passed a scientific review. Only articles that have not been published elsewhere are considered.
Every article submitted for publication goes through blind peer-review. Editors and reviewers adhere strictly to confidentiality. When accepting an article, it is first uploaded on the journal site in PDF format (in Issues). Such an article may be cited as “in print”. When collecting a sufficient number of articles, the respective journal issue is completed, it is printed and distributed.
BAJ benefits: reviewable articles; there are no fees for the authors; online and print versions; free access at no charge; the journal is indexed / abstracted by ADS, SCOPUS, Elsevier, and other databases.
There are 2 issues per year, the publications are in English, indexed in Scopus with SJR = 0.158 (2018).
