Innovative Initiatives for Cooperation in the Cross Border Region

Project CB006.1.31.070 “Innovative Initiatives for Cooperation in the Cross Border Region” is co-funded by the European Union through the INTERREG-IPP Cross-Border Cooperation Program Bulgaria-Macedonia 2014TC16I5CB006. Leading institution is the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, partner institution is the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts.

Scientists from the research institute are initiators and scientific leadership of this joint interdisciplinary project between the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and the Arts, identifying the problems facing the competitive development of the business in the cross border region and defining the approaches and the methods for their solution. They offer and apply a new interdisciplinary approach, including sociological observation of 1943 enterprises, etc. As a result, a new business model based on supply chain management is formulated, with scientists controlling the implementation of two practical tools for its implementation – a virtual consulting office http://vofis.bas.bg/ and a virtual learning platform http://vep.bas.bg/.

Goal:
The project is aimed to propose concrete measures to improve competitiveness and increase productivity in the forest sector in the cross border region of Bulgaria and Macedonia.
