\"\"<\/a>For one year, students in the 5th grade will have the opportunity to study directly in the scientific units of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences within 17 research projects. This year, 10,000 children under the \u201cEducation through Science\u201d programme will enter the museums and institutes of the Academy.<\/p>\n

The „Education through Science“ programme of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Education and Science was presented at the National Ethnographic Museum on 11 October. It includes the four BAS museums: the National Archaeological Museum, the National Museum of Natural History, the National Ethnographic Museum and the National Anthropological Museum as well as institutes of the Academy.<\/p>\n

The President of BAS, Prof. Julian Revalski, DSc emphasized that BAS had a long tradition of working with young people. The Academy has implemented a project to introduce novel teaching methods at school that have yielded very good results.<\/p>\n

There are scientists at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences who are also inspirers in many ways, Minister Krassimir Valchev said at the opening. He added that this program should inspire more students to pursue science and have a deeper knowledge, especially where there is a major shortage of specialists.<\/p>\n

The \u201cScience through Education\u201d programme aims to improve the awareness and access of students, teachers and school staff to BAS institutes and museums, with the help of Bulgarian researchers working at the Academy for the promotion of science in support of the modernization and introduction of innovative practices and methods in teaching.<\/p>\n
