The Institute of Astronomy of BAS celebrated the 40th anniversary of the National Astronomical Observatory Rozhen with a solemn assembly. The director of the Institute, Prof. Evgeni Semkov, presented the most significant achievements of the scientists over the years and the future projects on which the researchers will work.<\/p>\n

The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of the Academy, congratulated the astronomers for the high level of their research.<\/p>\n

The event ended with the premiere of the documentary „A Place for Science“ which is dedicated to the 40th anniversary of NAO Rozhen. The film traces the creation of the observatory from the idea to becoming the largest in the Balkans. The authors are Dimitar Sotirov and Valentin Paskalev.<\/p>\n
