The 76th anniversary of the founding of the „Stephan Angeloff“ Institute of Microbiology of BAS was celebrated on March 7 with a solemn assembly and a scientific session.<\/p>\n

Special guests were Dr. Rebecca Grace, Executive Director of the Pasteur Network and Mr. Arnaud Bauberot, Attach\u00e9 for Scientific and University Cooperation at the French Embassy in Bulgaria.<\/p>\n

The director of the institute Prof. Penka Petrova opened the event and presented a plaquette to Dr. Rebecca Grace for her dedication and commitment to the collaboration with the Pasteur Network. An award was also presented to the French Cultural Institute in Bulgaria for supporting scientific activities and promoting good partnership relations. A plaquette for scientific and administrative activity and strengthening of relations in the Pasteur Network was awarded to Prof. Nina Ivanovska, DSc, long-time Head of the Department of Immunology.<\/p>\n

Dr. Rebecca Grace presented the new opportunities for the development of joint projects and collaboration between institutes and scientists of the Pasteur Network and visited laboratories at the institute and got acquainted with the work of young scientists. The heads of departments presented the activities of the laboratories, their teams and their latest scientific achievements.<\/p>\n

During the event, the Stephan Angeloff Foundation awards for best work of a young Bulgarian microbiologist in 2022 were presented to:<\/p>\n

1st place – Martina Traykovska, Department of Genetics, Faculty of Biology, Sofia University „Kliment Ohridski“;<\/p>\n

2nd place – Nikolet Pavlova, Department of Genetics, Faculty of Biology, Sofia University „Kliment Ohridski“ ;<\/p>\n

3rd place – Nikola Ralchev, Department of Immunology, „Stephan Angeloff“ Institute of Microbiology, BAS;<\/p>\n

4th place – Lyudmila Dimitrova, Department of Infectious Microbiology, „Stephan Angeloff“ Institute of Microbiology, BAS.<\/p>\n
