<\/a><\/p>\nThree young Bulgarian chemists took part in the 74th edition of the Nobel Laureate Meeting with Young Scientists<\/u> in Chemistry. The event took place in Lindau, Germany, from 29 June to 4 July. Erik Dimitrov from the Institute of Polymers, Lyuben Borislavov from the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry and Boris Yanachkov from the Institute of Metal Science, Equipment and Technologies with Centre of Hydro and Aerodynamics „Acad. Angel Balevski\u201d took part in the meeting which was attended by 30 Nobel laureates and over 600 young researchers.<\/p>\n
Among the Nobel laureates in chemistry who took part this year were John Jumper, awarded the 2024 prize for chemistry, Moungi Bawendi, winner of the 2023 Nobel Prize for Chemistry, Morten Meldal, awarded in 2022, Michael Levitt, awarded in 2013, and others.<\/p>\n
The programme featured interdisciplinary lectures by Nobel laureates and discussions in a variety of formats, informal talks and an opportunity for young researchers from around the world to discuss their projects with leading experts in their scientific field. „This was one of the most interesting scientific events we had attended,“ said the young BAS researchers.<\/p>\n
The meetings of Nobel laureates with young scientists in the German city take place with a different disciplinary focus on medicine\/physiology, chemistry and physics. Each year the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences receives an invitation for nominations of young scientists for the meeting with Nobel laureates. The representatives of BAS have been selected among young scientists from over 84 countries.<\/p>\n
