The Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Acad. Nikolay Vitanov, presented the awards, which would be given annually, for the first time. The aim of the awards is to encourage the application of the principles of open and responsible science and innovation (Open and Responsible Research and Innovation &#8211; #ORRI) in Bulgarian universities and scientific organizations which were promoted last year by the ORBIT project \u2013 Incubator for Open Scientific Research under the European Union&#8217;s REINFORCING program.<\/p>\n<p>The team of Prof. Desislava Paneva-Marinova was awarded for developing and implementing open access digital libraries for scientific, educational, and public institutions in Bulgaria.
