Moreover, the award encourages young scientists to engage in the scientific research of the multifaceted issues and questions specifically related to the Danube Region.<\/p>\n<p>Angel Zlatkov is part of the team working on the research projects of the Institute of Balkan Studies &amp; Center for Thracology \u201cRediscovery, Preservation, and Promotion of Cultural and Historical Heritage in Eastern Macedonia\u201d funded by the European Union through the Next Generation EU programme (NextGenerationEU BG-RRP-2.015-0010-C01) and \u201cGrowing but not getting old: semantic and 3D technologies for the history of streets and buildings in Sofia\u201d funded by the Bulgarian National Science Fund. During the official ceremony, he expressed his conviction that knowledge of the past holds the power to build bridges between the Balkan peoples and states, thereby contributing to the overcoming of historical traumas, the deepening of regional integration, and the inclusion of the Western Balkan countries into the European Union.
