On April 7, Corresponding Member Vladimir Chukov delivered a lecture titled \u201cDonald Trump\u2019s Foreign Policy (2.0) Toward Iran and Syria\u201d as part of the academic seminar \u201cCurrent Issues in Science.\u201d Prof. Chukov emphasized the deep historical roots of Islamic movements and their contemporary transformation, as well as the role of the Kurdish factor in the Middle East – a topic of direct relevance to current international stability and security.<\/p>\n

During the lecture, both of Corr. Memb. Chukov\u2019s monographs, \u201cAssassins versus the Muslim Brotherhood\u201d and \u201cThe Kurds in Rojava: North and Northeast Syria\u201d were showcased. Their presentation sparked a lively discussion involving both representatives of the academic community and practitioners in the field of national security.<\/p>\n

The \u201cCurrent Issues in Science\u201d academic seminar has reaffirmed the Academy\u2019s role as a forum for contemporary scientific debate and a meeting point between theory and practice – particularly on topics that directly affect global and national security.<\/p>\n

Corr. Memb.Vladimir Chukov is a university professor and researcher whose main scholarly contributions are in the field of the theory and practice of radical Islam and countering it, the religious aspect of the Arab-Israeli conflict, migration processes, Islamic minorities in Europe, and non-Islamic minorities in the Middle East. He is the author of 14 monographs and hundreds of academic and popular science articles published in Bulgaria and abroad. He is a member of several prestigious international academic associations – CESS, EURAMES, DAVO, ECPR, and others – where he shares the achievements of Bulgarian scholarship in Middle Eastern studies and international security.<\/p>\n
