\"\"<\/a>A national representative survey – unique in its nature and scope – has been launched as part of project BG05SFPR002-1.020-0001-C01 \u201cImproving Policy in Response to Demographic Change\u201d .<\/p>\n

The aim of the survey is to identify the main challenges facing the country\u2019s demographic development and, on this basis, to formulate appropriate policies to address these challenges at the national and regional levels.<\/p>\n

The survey has been prepared by an inter-institutional research team from the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology at BAS, the Institute for Population and Human Studies at BAS, and the Economic Research Institute at BAS.<\/p>\n

Object of the survey is the population aged 15 and older.<\/p>\n

The survey sample consists of 12,000 respondents which is unique within the borders of the Republic of Bulgaria. To collect the necessary information, 12,000 households will be visited, and one person from each household will be selected for an interview. The sample is structured to allow for the collection of representative data for each of the six planning regions in Bulgaria.<\/p>\n

The interviews will be conducted using a tablet which will significantly facilitate both the interviewing process and the management of the collected empirical data.<\/p>\n

Specifics of the research methodology<\/p>\n

To collect the necessary empirical data, separate questionnaires have been designed for key age groups, differentiated as follows:<\/p>\n

  1. Demographic screening.<\/li>\n
  2. Questionnaire for young people aged 15\u201329.<\/li>\n
  3. Questionnaire for parents with children under 18 (regardless of the respondent\u2019s age)<\/li>\n
  4. Questionnaire for individuals aged 30\u201354 without children or with children over 18<\/li>\n
  5. Questionnaire for individuals over 55.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Ethics and Security<\/p>\n

    The survey is being conducted by a highly qualified research team and experienced interviewers from the network of the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology at BAS. The interviews are conducted in strict compliance with fundamental ethical standards:<\/p>\n
