The new opportunities that the European Molecular Biology Organization \u2013 EMBO<\/a> is opening up for the Bulgarian scientific community were presented at a scientific seminar held in the \u201cProf. Marin Drinov\u201d Hall of the Academy. Bulgaria\u2019s full membership in EMBO is an important step for the development of Bulgarian science. Scientists and researchers participated in the event which aimed to promote scientific exchange and collaboration. A special guest was EMBO Director Prof. Fiona Watt who delivered a lecture on the latest discoveries in regenerative medicine, focusing on epidermal stem cells.<\/p>\n

During the seminar at BAS, leading scientists in the field of life sciences shared their latest research. Prof. Danny Nedialkova (Max Perutz Labs, Medical University of Vienna) discussed protein biogenesis in eukaryotes in her lecture. From the Institute of Molecular Biology at BAS, Dr. Rumen Stamatov presented on the topic of genomic stability and chromosomes while Assoc. Prof. Radoslav Aleksandrov examined in detail the mechanisms of action of PARP1 inhibitors.<\/p>\n

The event was held to mark Bulgaria\u2019s membership in the organization and was jointly organized by the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the European Molecular Biology Organization, and the Ministry of Education and Science.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
