Current activities under EASAC\u2019s programs on energy, biosciences, and the environment were presented, as well as EASAC\u2019s participation in the European Commission\u2019s Science Advisory Mechanism (SAM) on the Science Advice for Policy by European Academies (SAPEA) project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The European Academies&#8217; Science Advisory Council (EASAC) brings together the national academies of sciences of the EU Member States, Norway, Switzerland and the United Kingdom as well as Academia Europaea, to provide independent scientific advice to European policymakers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member Evelina Slavcheva, took part in the first meeting for 2026 of the Council of the European Academies Science Advisory Council (EASAC) which was held on May 21\u201322 in Nicosia, Republic of Cyprus.
