During his visit to China, Professor Emeritus Vesselin Petrov from the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology at BAS presented a series of papers and lectures on procedural philosophy, ecological civilisation, environmental education, artificial intelligence and the development of human civilisation. Between 3 and 23 July, he took part in conferences, symposia, academic training sessions and working meetings in the cities of Harbin, Luoyang, Zhuhai and Shenzhen.<\/p>\n

Among the academic events were the international symposium on process thinking, environmental education and ecovillages design, a conference on ecological civilisation in Luoyang, the Process Thinking Summer Academy in Zhuhai, and the third world symposium on the philosophy of the environment and the building of a global ecological civilisation.<\/p>\n

As part of the Summer Process Academy, Prof. Petrov delivered two lectures to students from China, Taiwan, South Korea and African countries. In these lectures, he explored procedural-philosophical perspectives on the development of human civilisation as well as the relationship between artificial intelligence, ecological civilisation and education.<\/p>\n

During the International Whitehead Conference in Zhuhai, Prof. Petrov presented two papers to participants from 35 countries across four continents, took part in a plenary discussion and chaired four academic sessions on the themes of education and civilisation.<\/p>\n

During the visit, discussions took place regarding the organisation of an international conference on ecological civilisation in Bulgaria in October 2027. The forum is expected to bring together researchers from China and the Balkan countries and to lay the foundations for holding similar conferences in Bulgaria every two years. The initiative was officially announced during the closing ceremony of the International Whitehead Conference as one of the future tasks of the International Process Network.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
