A new book “Values, Justice and Mental Wellbeing” by Prof. DSc Ergyul Tair

  A presentation of the book "Values, Justice and Mental Well-being" (Ценности, справедливост и психично благополучие) by Prof. DSc Ergyul Tair from the Department of Psychology of the Institute for Population and Human Studies (IPHS) took place on 18 October at the “Prof. Marin Drinov” Hall of BAS. The director of IPHS Prof. Antoaneta Hristova opened the event by thanking Prof. Tair for reviving the section of occupational and organizational psychology at the institute and highlighted her work as a very thorough scholar in the field of psychology. Memorial plaque of Prof. Geza Feher in Sofia

Memorial plaque to the Hungarian scientist and foreign member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Prof. Geza Feher (1890-1955) was unveiled today in front of the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Sofia. The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, and the Ambassador of Hungary to Bulgaria H.E. Miklós Boros attended the event. Geza Feher is considered to be one of the founders of Proto-Bulgarian history. Thanks to his scientific works, our history has come to the fore of other nations, said Prof. Revalski. H.E. 78 Bulgarian scientists are among the best in the world, according to the Stanford ranking

  According to this year's ranking for overall career development of scientists (known as the Stanford ranking), 78 Bulgarian researchers are among the top two percent of top scientists in the world. Sixteen of them are members of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (academicians and correspondent members), and another 33 are scientists from the Academy. The ranking is compiled annually based on an analysis of the scientific metrics of about 8 400 000 scientists from 176 subfields of science who have publications in Scopus, i.e. it sees 2% of proven scientists. A separate ranking is prepared for scientific developments in the previous year. It includes a total of 56 Bulgarian scientists in the top 2%. Visit of a delegation from Tokai University to BAS

The Vice Presidents of BAS, Corr. Memb. Evdokiya Pasheva and Corr. Memb. Stefan Hadjidodorov, today discussed the Bulgarian-Japanese relations in the field of science with representatives of Tokai University and the "Sts. Cyril and Methodius” international foundation. 154 years since the founding of BAS

  A solemn assembly on the occasion of the 154th anniversary of the establishment of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences was held today at the “Prof. Marin Drinov" Hall of BAS. The National Archaeological Institute with Museum presents an exhibition about the necropolis in Trebenishte

The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, attended the opening The exhibition "Trebenishte. 105 years since the discovery of the necropolis at Trebenishte. 1918 - 2023" is presented by the National Archaeological Institute with Museum at BAS. It can be viewed from 10 October 2023 to 24 March 2024.
