Acad. Ilchev lectures on the history of the Balkan peoples in China

Academician Ivan Ilchev, Head of the “Heritage BG” Centre of Excellence, was on a working visit to China from 18 to 30 May at the invitation of Capital Normal University in Beijing and Beijing Foreign Studies University. Acad. Ilchev delivered a series of five lectures on the history of the Balkan peoples for students and PhD students and discussed the possibilities of deepening cooperation with the Center for the Study of Civilizations at Capital Normal University. GOLDEN Honorary plaquette for Krasimira Stoyanova

The Bulgarian Academy of Sciences presented a GOLDEN honorary plaquette to Krasimira Stoyanova, former interim Minister of Transport and Communications. The award was presented by the President of BAS, Corr. Memb. Evelina Slavcheva, for her significant contribution to the process of naming Sofia Airport after Vasil Levski. The ceremony which took place at the Academy today was attended by Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of BAS (President of the Academy - 2016-2024) and Corr. Memb. Atanas Semov. “Science for Business” presents successful projects with businesses and technologies ready for implementation

Successfully implemented projects between science and business and ready-to-implement scientific and applied technologies were presented by the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences at the “Science for Business” Forum held today at Inter Expo Center. The event has been organized for the fifth consecutive year together with the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA). Deputy Minister of Innovation and Growth Krasimir Yakimov attended the opening of the forum. In his address, he announced that the state was indebted to the business and research community. Two European programmes with a total budget of about five billion leva are available to promote the relationship between business and science, Deputy Minister Yakimov said. Three world-renowned mathematicians meet with students at BAS

Three French mathematicians are meeting with Bulgarian pupils, students, lecturers and scientists from today to 5 June at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The event brings together some of the most famous and world-renowned mathematicians. Prof. Cédric Villani, winner of the Fields Medal in 2010, Prof. Bernard Teissier and Prof. Patrick Popescu-Pampu are participating in the meetings which are held under the title "Why become a researcher?" and aim to promote the career of the mathematician scientist among Bulgarian young people who have a strong interest in mathematics. Participation of BAS in the conference “CLEAN METALS – FOR A STRONG AND INDEPENDENT EUROPE”

On 30.05.2025 in Sofia the "CLEAN METALS - FOR A STRONG AND INDEPENDENT EUROPE" conference organized by the BULGARIAN ASSOCIATION OF THE METALLURGICAL INDUSTRY was held. Prof. Margarita Popova, Scientific Secretary of BAS, introduced the participants in the conference with the research and projects that the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences was working on for the implementation of decarbonization and green transition.
