The President of BAS Corr. Memb. Evelina Slavcheva is participating in the Astana International Forum which is held on 29 and 30 May in the capital of Kazakhstan. The aim of the event is to bring together leaders in the field of politics, business and science to seek solutions to current societal problems through dialogue and cooperation. Four hundred and thirty are the patents and utility models of the scientific units of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in the last five years. These data were presented by the Vice-President of BAS Prof. Shtelian Shterionov at a conference on innovative education and professions of the future, organized by the Higher School of Telecommunications and Posts on May 29.   The first exhibition of the series "Contemporary Art at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences" was opened on 29 May at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The exhibition is by Sasho Stoitzov and is entitled "Messy Beads". The exhibition was initiated and opened by the President of the General Assembly of BAS Prof. Vassil Kirov. The Vice-President of BAS Corr. Memb. Evdokia Pasheva has met with the Director of the Regional Office for Central and Eastern Europe of the Francophone University Agency (AUF), Prof. Laure Castin. During the conversation which took place at the Academy on 28 May, Corr. Memb. Pasheva presented the activities of BAS aimed at training young scientists and PhD students carried out by the Training Centre at BAS and the Career Centre of it. Corr. Memb.
