BAS and business in Burgas discuss expanding cooperation

The priorities in the programme of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences for the term 2024-2028 were presented by the President of BAS, Corr. Memb. Evelina Slavcheva, at a meeting held in the meeting hall of the Burgas Municipality today. The Scientific Archives of BAS present the archival collection of journalist Vasil Seizov

The Scientific Archives of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences presented archival fund 250 "Vasil Seizov" in the "Ivan Evstratiev Geshov" Hall of the Academy on March 26. The event was organized on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the death of the prominent journalist and public figure and the announcement of newly acquired documents donated by his daughter Froska Seizova. HYDROGEN ENERGY – the second in the series of training courses of IEES-BAS under the Green Skills for Hydrogen programme

A team of scientists from the “Acad. Evgeni Budevski” Institute of Electrochemistry and Energy Systems at BAS (IEES-BAS) headed by the President of BAS Corr. Memb. Evelina Slavcheva, DSc, started the second of a series of training courses under the Green Skills for Hydrogen project. Scientists from the Institute of Oceanology of BAS have also celebrated the World Water Day

Students from over 30 schools and kindergartens as well as residents and guests of Varna participated in the event organized by the Institute of Oceanology - BAS (IO-BAS) on the occasion of World Water Day - 22 March. Researchers from the Ocean Technologies Department at IO-BAS presented modern methods applied for monitoring the marine environment in the form of short films. Ms. Karina Angelieva with a public lecture at the Economic Research Institute of BAS

A public lecture by Ms. Karina Angelieva, Executive Director of the International Science and Technology Centre (ISTC) with a mandate from the European Commission, was held on 21.03.2025 at the Economic Research Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The ISTC is an intergovernmental organisation established in 1992 whose members include the EU, Japan, the USA, Norway, the Republic of Korea, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Its activities cover the territory of 100 countries. Its main objectives are to facilitate and accelerate peaceful multilateral scientific and technological cooperation and to address national and global technological problems, including through support for basic and applied research. World Day for Glaciers is celebrated for the first time

An event on the occasion of the World Day for Glaciers (21 March), World Water Day (22 March) and World Meteorological Day (23 March) with the participation of scientists, students and teachers was held at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences today. This forum was organised by the Climate, Atmosphere and Water Research Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (CAWRI-BAS).
