Large-scale project presents the work of BAS members

An exhibition of works of fine art by members of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences is open in the Central Foyer of the BAS until 3 December. Eight paintings and two sculptures mark the beginning of a permanent exhibition of artworks by Academy members. The idea is part of the management programme of Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of BAS, whose second term of office expires on December 7. The exhibition includes works by Ivan Murkvicka, Ivan Lazarov, Dechko Uzunov, Todor Dinov, Iliya Petrov, Ivan Nenov, Rumen Skorchev, Svetlin Rusev and Vejdi Rashidov. Open Doors Day at the Institute of Polymers

The Institute of Polymers-BAS organized an information campaign "Open Doors Day" which took place on 26 November. Economists of BAS: Corruption is not the most serious barrier to business

Contrary to the prevailing public opinion that corruption is the number one problem, business in Bulgaria manages to overcome it. This was stated by Prof. Spartak Keremidchiev from the Economic Research Institute at BAS during the conference "Economic Development and Policies: Reality and Prospects. European Integration, Convergence and Cohesion" organized on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Institute. Official unveiling of a monument to Acad. Blagovest Sendov

  Monument to Academician Blagovest Sendov was officially unveiled in the park space in front of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, the Rector of Sofia University Prof. Georgi Valchev and the grandson of Acad. Senov - Blagovest Sendov unveiled the monument. The authors are the sculptor Krasimir Angelov and the architect Stanislav Konstantinov. Vice President Iliana Iotova emphasized in her speech that Acad. Eleventh Scientific Session of the High-School-Students’ Institute of BAS (HSSI – BAS) at the Training Centre – BAS

On November 23-24, 2024, the eleventh scientific session of the High-School-Students’ Institute of BAS (HSSI-BAS) at the PhD Training Centre - BAS took place in the central building of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The event was opened by the Vice-President of BAS Corr. Memb. Evdokia Pasheva who noted how many young people had been touched by the magic of science. BAS receives a positive opinion on the naming of Sofia Airport

The Ministry of Transport and Communications supports the implementation of the project proposed by the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences for naming Sofia Airport after the brightest historical figure for Bulgaria, Vasil Levski. This has become clear during the meeting held by the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, and the Minister of Transport and Communications Krasimira Stoyanova today at the Academy. Minister Stoyanova handed to Prof. Revalski the positive opinion of the Ministry of Transport and Communications and informed him about the necessary concrete actions for the naming of Sofia Airport.
