The “MUSICORUM VIA. Two Academies – One Stage” concerts continue in September at BAS

MUSICORUM VIA has ended the academic year 2024-2025 at BAS The season of our new initiative "MUSICORUM VIA. Two academies - one stage" ended yesterday with a concert of PhD students from the "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" National Music Academy in the "Prof. Marin Drinov" Hall of BAS-Administration. This is the tenth concert in the series of performances of NMA students and lecturers to the academic community and the citizens of the capital. Works by J. С. Bach, Huang Tzu, J. Brahms, Giuseppe Verdi, P. Vladigerov, D. Arnaudov, etc. were presented. The concert featured doctoral student instrumentalists (piano, double bass, flute, clarinet) and singers. Minister Valchev gets acquainted with new projects of BAS

The opportunities of science to support new industries and education were discussed at a meeting with the Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Valchev by scientists from the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies (IICT) and the Institute of Electrochemistry and Energy Systems (IEES). The scientists presented the scientific activities and the latest developments with international funding that they are currently working on. BAS presents research developments at Green Transition Forum

Scientists from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences are participating in the Green Transition Forum 5.0 which has opened today and will last until 20 June at the Sofia Event Center. Competitiveness and innovation in Central and Eastern European countries are the focus of the largest transformation and development event in the region. Teams of institutes from different scientific fields of BAS are presenting current developments and news thematically related to the main topics of the forum. Presentation of the book “Macedonia in European Ethnic Cartography (Mid-19th Century – End of the First World War 1918)”

The book "Macedonia in European Ethnic Cartography (Mid-19th century - the end of the First World War 1918)" (Македония в европейската етническа картография (Средата на XIX в. – края на Първата световна война 1918 г.) by Acad. Ivan Ilchev was presented on June 10 at the Prof. Marin Drinov Hall of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The publication includes 60 maps. INRNE-BAS and the US Department of Energy conduct a successful radiation safety training

The Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (INRNE-BAS) hosted a key final training on the search and security of radioactive sources, carried out in close cooperation with the US Department of Energy. The event, which took place on 6 June, was part of a global effort to enhance the safety, control and safe disposal of radioactive materials worldwide. The training brought together leading experts from INRNE-BAS, their counterparts from Slovakia, as well as experts from various institutions involved in safety when handling radioactive materials. BAS scientist with prestigious film award

The Grand Prix of the "The Golden Linden" International Film Festival for New European Cinema 2025 has gone to the film "Before I Forget" (2024, director Stanislav Donchev). Co-writer and co-producer of the film is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teodora Stoilova-Doncheva from the Screen Arts department of the Institute of Art Studies, BAS (IAS). Besides being a professional screenwriter and film critic, Assoc. Prof. Stoilova-Doncheva is an established researcher of documentary cinema, author of a number of theoretical works and several monographs. She has participated in a number of collective projects of IAS-BAS and has helped to establish the Academy as a place for the realization of talented and young professionals who have an attractive presence in the public space in Bulgaria and Europe.
