Four medals for Bulgaria at the International Biology Olympiad

  The Bulgarian students have won four medals - two silver and two bronze from the International Biology Olympiad (IBO). The Olympiad was held from 20 to 27 July in the Philippines. The silver medals were won by Dimitar Oronov (XI grade, National High School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics - NHSNSM) and Stoyan Dobrev (XII grade, NHSNSM). The bronze awards went to Martin Zamfirov (XII grade, NHSNSM) and Boyan Tsenov (XI grade, NHSNSM). Their supervisors have been Prof. Dr. Albena Jordanova (Medical Faculty, SU "St. Kliment Ohridski"), Sen. Asst. The newly discovered comet 3I/ATLAS is observed by telescopes at NAO Rozhen

Exhibition presents artefacts from Heraclea Sintica in the Greek city of Dion

  The "Secrets and Mysteries of Heraclea Sintica - a journey in time" exhibition of the History Museum - Petrich is presented within the framework of the "Olympus" festival which is held in the Greek town of Dion. The President of BAS meets with the Ambassador of Austria H.E. Andrea Ikić-Böhm

The President of BAS, Corr. Memb. Evelina Slavcheva, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria H.E. Ms. Andrea Ikić-Böhm today at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. During the conversation, Ambassador Ikić-Böhm underlined the traditionally good bilateral cooperation between Austria and Bulgaria and emphasized the scientific and cultural ties between the two countries. Opportunities for joint cultural initiatives with the assistance of BAS were discussed. The implementation of the “Sustainable Development of the Heritage BG Center of Excellence (CoE) project funded under the grant procedure "Sustainable Development of Centres of Excellence and Centres of Competence including specific infrastructures or their clusters from the National Roadmap for Research Infrastructure", has started. BAS and NATFA sign a Memorandum of Cooperation

   The President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) Corr. Memb. Evelina Slavcheva and the Rector of the "Krastyo Sarafov" National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts (NATFA) Corr. Memb. Miroslav Dachev have signed today at the Academy a Memorandum of Cooperation. The subject of the Memorandum are doctoral programs in the field of arts, humanities and culture, the establishment of joint interdisciplinary doctoral programs, educational initiatives and creative forums. The document provides for the sharing of experiences between the two institutions and joint activities to enhance the quality of teaching, research and creative achievements as well as to encourage PhD students, postdocs and young researchers in pursuing their academic careers.
