Forum in Zagreb discusses Bulgarian-Croatian cooperation

The Bulgarian-Croatian cooperation in the field of history and humanities was presented at a forum held on 19 May at the National Library in Zagreb. The event was attended by Dr. Irina Ognyanova from the Institute of Balkan Studies of BAS.  At the forum, the "Croats and Bulgarians. Diplomacy, Politics, Culture and Science" collection published by the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts was also presented. The long-standing cooperation between the academies of sciences of the two countries was discussed during the event. 15 years “For Women in Science”: exhibition presents the achievements of Bulgarian women researchers

An open-air exhibition on the Lovers' Bridge at the National Palace of Culture marked the 15th anniversary of the “For Women in Science” National Programme. The event acknowledged 39 outstanding Bulgarian women scientists who had been honoured over the years with the prestigious award presented in partnership between the National Commission for UNESCO - Bulgaria, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski” and L'Oréal Bulgaria. Among the recipients of this prestigious recognition are 18 women scientists from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences whose work and achievements have contributed to the prestige of Bulgarian science worldwide. Over 60 researchers from 14 countries discuss Christian missions in the European Middle Ages

The International Scientific Conference on "Christian Missions in the European Middle Ages and their Intellectual Heritage. History, Notions, Ideas" has been opened at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences today. More than 60 participants from 14 countries, representing 40 world Slavic and historical scientific centres, are taking part in the scientific forum. Prof. Valya Vassileva – among the eight selected participants from over 860 applications in Malmö Residency 2025

Prof. Dr. Valya Vassileva, Director of the Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics at BAS, is among the eight scientists and innovators from around the world selected to participate in the prestigious international Malmö Residency 2025 programme. Besides personal success, this is also a recognition of the high scientific level and international commitment of the Bulgarian academic community. Malmö Residency is an initiative of more than 70 institutions, universities, companies and public organisations in the Swedish city of Malmö. Todorov Foundation Awards for Mathematics and Literature

  Awards of the Todorov Foundation were presented for the first time at a ceremony held on 20 May at the “Prof. Marin Drinov” Hall of BAS. The Foundation is named after the famous Bulgarian physicist Acad. Ivan T. Todorov (1933 - 2025) and aims to encourage the development of mathematical physics and mathematics in Bulgaria, as well as the creation of remarkable works of fiction in Bulgarian. Challenges for human resources in the green and digital transition discussed at the Economic Research Institute

Representatives of the scientific community, business and the executive discussed key challenges and solutions related to human resources in the green and digital transition at the "Sustainability of Human Resources for a Competitive Economy" national scientific conference.
