The building of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences won the Golden Facade Award

The renovation of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences building in Sofia won the Golden Facade prize in the "Renovation of Historical Buildings" category in the eighteenth “Facade of the Year 2022-2023” competition of “Baumit Bulgaria”. BAS celebrates the 185th anniversary of the birth of its first president and co-founder Prof. Marin Drinov

On the occasion of the 185th anniversary of the birth of Prof. Marin Drinov, wreaths and flowers at his monument in Scientific Complex 1 of BAS were presented by the President of the Academy Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of BAS, and representatives of the management of the Academy, the Assembly of Academicians and Corresponding Members and the Institutes of the Academy, the Director General of BTA Kiril Valchev and journalists.   The celebration of the 185th anniversary of the birth of the first president and co-founder of the Bulgarian Learned Society (today Bulgarian Academy of Sciences), Prof. Marin Drinov, were discussed at a meeting today by the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, and the Director General of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) Kiril Valchev. Prof. Marin Drinov was born on October 20, 1838 in the town of Panagyurishte. New supercomputer Hemus presented by IICT-BAS

A unique infrastructure complex opened its doors   A new infrastructure complex with state-of-the-art technologies for digital transformation and high-performance computing was inaugurated today by Prime Minister Acad. Nikolai Denkov, the President of BAS Acad. Julian Revalski and the Director of the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies of BAS (IICT), Corr. Memb. Svetozar Margenov, who heads the Centre of Excellence. The new Bulgarian Hemus supercomputer is part of the complex which includes a data storage system, local application development centres and digitisation facilities. A new book “Values, Justice and Mental Wellbeing” by Prof. DSc Ergyul Tair

  A presentation of the book "Values, Justice and Mental Well-being" (Ценности, справедливост и психично благополучие) by Prof. DSc Ergyul Tair from the Department of Psychology of the Institute for Population and Human Studies (IPHS) took place on 18 October at the “Prof. Marin Drinov” Hall of BAS. Memorial plaque of Prof. Geza Feher in Sofia

Memorial plaque to the Hungarian scientist and foreign member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Prof. Geza Feher (1890-1955) was unveiled today in front of the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Sofia. The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, and the Ambassador of Hungary to Bulgaria H.E. Miklós Boros attended the event. Geza Feher is considered to be one of the founders of Proto-Bulgarian history. Thanks to his scientific works, our history has come to the fore of other nations, said Prof. Revalski. H.E.
