BAS develops a platform for collaboration with business

More than 350 participants in the third edition of "Science for Business" A platform for cooperation with business, which will present the developments of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, is prepared by the Joint Innovation Centre of BAS. It will include a virtual demonstration centre with products and technologies of BAS, a registry with the Academy's intellectual property and a virtual business incubator for start-up companies. The platform is part of the activities of BAS under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. Exhibition “Notes on Bulgarian Orchids” and presentation of the book “Orchids in Bulgaria”

The exhibition "Notes on Bulgarian Orchids" was opened at the National Museum of Natural History of BAS (NMNHS) on 25 April and the book "Orchids in Bulgaria" was presented. The exhibition can be viewed in the Botany Hall of the museum until the end of the year. The book is a unique phototype edition of a manuscript with botanical notes and drawings by Lyuben Domozetski. Today, when there are many opportunities to document observations and verbalize knowledge, the author of the manuscript turns to this archaic model to introduce us to an exciting and interesting topic - the wild orchids of Bulgaria. Visit of European Battery Alliance representatives to IEES-BAS

Declaration on the accession of the Republic of Bulgaria to the European Battery Alliance (EBA250) was signed on 24 April 2023 in Sofia TechPark. The document was signed by Marcin Wasilewski, Chief Executive Officer of EIT InnoEnergy for Central Europe and Bogdan Bogdanov, Executive Director of InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA). IBA will be the official representative of our country in the European Battery Alliance. Ecology of the Black Sea – from molecule to ecosystem

On the occasion of the Earth Day innovative scientific research and projects on the topic: ECOLOGY OF THE BLACK SEA - FROM THE MOLECULE TO THE ECOSYSTEM were presented on April 21, 2023 in “Prof. Marin Drinov” Hall of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. International workshop on biodiversity

A training course with international participation: BioDATA workshop "Accelerating biodiversity research through DNA barcodes, collection, and observation data" was held from 17 to 21 April at the Training and Experimental Base of the University of Forestry, Yundola. Japanese cherry trees at the Geological Institute of BAS for Earth Day

The Bulgarian Academy of Sciences celebrated the World Earth Day at the initiative of the Geological Institute (GI-BAS) on 21 April. Three cherry trees were planted in front of the Institute's building with the kind assistance of the Japanese Embassy in Bulgaria. The Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Hiroshi Narahira, and the Director of the Geological Institute of BAS Assoc. Prof. Svetoslav Georgiev planted the Japanese cherry trees in the presence of the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of the Academy. The planting of a tree identifies the relationship "man - planet" and has a special symbolic meaning.
