Bulgaria in the digital exhibition of the Central European Initiative (CEI) on intangible cultural heritage

Within the framework of Serbia's presidency of the Central European Initiative (CEI) in 2025, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia has invited member states to contribute to a digital exhibition dedicated to the connection between intangible cultural heritage and industrial design. The exhibition showcases traditional cultural elements brought to life on utilitarian objects and demonstrates the richness of living traditions in the region. Thirteen countries are participating: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Serbia. BAS participates in round table on women in innovation

Scientific achievements demonstrated by women's teams from BAS The topic of “Women in Innovation” was discussed by participants at a round table organized by the Ladies’ Forum Association which took place on October 30 at Planet Schwarz Tech Theater. Scientists from BAS receive awards from the Ministry of Culture

Researchers from the Institute of Oceanology with an initiative on International Black Sea Day

Researchers from the Institute of Oceanology of BAS marked International Black Sea Day with an Open Day initiative in Varna and Sofia. Schoolchildren, students, and enthusiasts of marine science and nature met with marine researchers and had the opportunity to learn more about the challenges facing the Black Sea. At the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, scientists presented a poster exhibition showing the unique features of the Black Sea and the impact of human activities on its sustainability as well as short films about the activities of the Institute of Oceanology of BAS. The first interdisciplinary hackathon of the PhD Training Center of BAS brings together young scientists with innovative ideas

The first interdisciplinary hackathon “Young Researchers on a Mission: innovations for a better life in Sofia” organized by the PhD Training Center of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences took place from October 21 to 23 at the University of National and World Economy. The event was organized as part of a project funded by Sofia Municipality's “Sofia – City of the Young and Active” program. This is the first interdisciplinary hackathon for young scientists held in Bulgaria.
