Participation of BAS in the prestigious international “Future Minerals Forum” in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 9 to 11 January, hosted the third edition of the Future Minerals Forum - one of the most important conferences for the mining industry, setting global priorities and trends not only in the mining and processing industry but also in the world economy. At the centre of the discussions was society's rapidly growing need for critical raw materials required for renewable energy production, and the actions needed to scale up their extraction. The President of BAS presents awards at the Academic Oscars ceremony

The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, attended the ceremony "Academic Oscars" for 2023, organized by the "24 hours" newspaper. The awards are based on the Rating System of Higher Education Institutions in Bulgaria, an annual ranking organized by the Ministry of Education and Science (MES) and a consortium including the Open Society Institute and the Sirma Group. Students from Bulgarian Sunday schools visit BAS

Students from the Bulgarian Sunday schools in Cologne and Paris visited the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and saw valuable publications kept in the Central Library of BAS. They were shown the oldest Bulgarian printed book - "Nedelnik" by Sophronius of Vratsa of 1806 and the first Bulgarian grammar by Neofit Rilski of 1832. The students and their teachers also got acquainted with the first edition of the "Fish Primer" by Dr. Petar Beron which is one of the most valuable possessions of the Central Library of BAS. During their visit, the children learned interesting facts from the history of the oldest institution in modern Bulgaria. A Bulgarian delegation of BAS received by the President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan

On December 20, the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, and the Vice-President Corr. Memb. Evdokiya Pasheva were received by the President of the Republic of Armenia. A delegation of BAS participates in the celebrations dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the founding of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia

A delegation of BAS composed of the President of the Academy Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of BAS, and the Vice-President of BAS Corr. Memb.
