Open Days on Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Institute of Robotics of BAS

  New laboratory for experimental surgical robotics A scientific session on the future of minimally invasive surgery with the participation of leading scientists was held at the Institute of Robotics of BAS. The zoological expedition of scientists of BAS in Vietnam is over

On November 1, 2023 Assoc. Prof. Nikolay Simov, Assoc. Prof. Rostislav Bekchiev, Assoc. Prof. Mario Langourov from NMNHS-BAS and Assoc. Prof. Ivailo Dedov from IBER-BAS successfully returned to their native land after almost three weeks of joint work with Vietnamese colleagues from Hanoi Pedagogical University No2 Xuan Hoa, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Ho Chi Minh City. For the second time the scientists from BAS embarked on the study of the fauna in this part of Southeast Asia. Prof. Garo Mardirosian – Inventor of the Year – 2023

  Prof. Garo Mardirosian from the Space Research and Technologies Institute (SRTI) of BAS was awarded the "Inventor of the Year - 2023" prize of the Union of Inventors in Bulgaria. He received the prestigious award for 4 inventions in the field of protection from disasters and accidents, two of which were for critical infrastructure: the "Kinematic System for Early Warning of Earthquakes for Critical Infrastructure Facilities" and the " Early Warning about Floods along River Beds near Artificial Lakes Barrages ". Scientists of BAS with awards for high scientific achievements

  Three scientists from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences received the "Marin Drinov" honorary medal on a ribbon at a solemn assembly on the occasion of the National Enlighteners Day. The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, presented the awards. Scientific Conference “Turkish Modernity – Political, Social and Cultural Dimensions of the XIX-XX Centuries”

On 30 and 31 October 2023, the Institute of Balkan Studies and Center of Thracology - BAS held a scientific conference on "Turkish Modernity - Political, Social and Cultural Dimensions of the XIX-XX Centuries". The occasion for the event was the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey on 29 October 1923. Agreement on Scientific Cooperation between the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Sciences of Albania

The President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, and the President of the Academy of Sciences of Albania Academician Skënder Gjinushi signed today at BAS an agreement on scientific cooperation between the two academies. The document provides for the participation of researchers in joint projects, conferences, as well as the exchange of scientists.
