The first stage of the implementation of a project on the labour market in the conditions of euro area membership has been reported at the Economic Research Institute-BAS

Intermediate stage of the implementation of the research project "Adaptation of the labour market in the conditions of euro area membership: socio-economic dynamics, technological modernisation, demographic changes and educational restructuring" were reported at the Economic Research Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. It is funded by the Bulgarian National Science Fund at the Ministry of Education and Science and is implemented jointly by ERI at BAS, the lead organization SU "St. Kliment Ohridski" and the University of Reading in the UK. Six project papers were presented at the round table. A lecture on Sts. Cyril and Methodius by Dr. Totka Grigorova (CMRC) in Messina

  On 03.04.2025, Dr. Totka Grigorova from the Cyrillo-Methodian Research Center at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences gave a lecture on "The Images of Cyril and Methodius - Memory Through the Centuries" to students and lecturers at the University of Messina (Italy). The seminar was organized by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marco Scarpa from the Department of Ancient and Modern Civilizations of the University of Messina.  The lecture was supported by the ERASMUS+ programme. The role of science diplomacy in a changing world

On 25 March UNESCO organized a high-level conference on science diplomacy in which the Bulgarian delegation was led by Corr. Memb. Evdokia Pasheva, Vice-President of BAS. The main topics discussed at the conference were related to the science diplomacy of the 20th century, its role in promoting openness and security of science, building equitable collaborations for the development and responsible application of new technologies and ensuring peaceful use of shared resources. Corr. Memb. Pasheva also took part in the Global Ministerial Dialogue on 26 March during which issues such as science diplomacy in a changing world, science diplomacy for shared natural and scientific resources, science diplomacy in times of crises, in a world with disruptive technologies, and advancing open and secure science were again discussed. Working meeting between representatives of Bulgarian science and state administration and the European Space Agency: “Space for security and defence”

On March 26, 2025, at the Bulgarian Defence Institute "Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov", a working meeting was held on the topic: Space for Security and Defence between representatives of Bulgarian science and state administration and the European Space Agency - Major General Pascal Legai - Senior Security Adviser to ESA DG Director General’s Services and Dr. Christopher Topping - Head of the ESA Civil Security from Space (CSS) programme. The event was jointly organized by the Bulgarian Defence Institute, the Armaments Policy Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Center for National Security and Defence Research (CNSDR) at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. BAS and business in Burgas discuss expanding cooperation

The priorities in the programme of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences for the term 2024-2028 were presented by the President of BAS, Corr. Memb. Evelina Slavcheva, at a meeting held in the meeting hall of the Burgas Municipality today. The Regional Academic Center (RAC) of BAS and the Burgas Chamber of Commerce and Industry were the organizers of the event. The Scientific Archives of BAS present the archival collection of journalist Vasil Seizov

The Scientific Archives of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences presented archival fund 250 "Vasil Seizov" in the "Ivan Evstratiev Geshov" Hall of the Academy on March 26. The event was organized on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the death of the prominent journalist and public figure and the announcement of newly acquired documents donated by his daughter Froska Seizova. She shared moving memories of her father. The Scientific Archives of BAS has launched an initiative to present to the public newly processed archival funds containing the documentary heritage of prominent Bulgarian scientists and public figures, announced the Director of the Archives, Assoc.
