Scientists from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences are participating in the Sofia Science Festival 2025 which takes place from today to 11 May in Sofia Tech Park.
The theme of the demonstrations and discussions, organized by the Institute of Bulgarian Language, is: “Competition with Large Language Models”, and their focus is on the following questions: what is the place of language technologies in our everyday life; how to use them properly and when to rely on them; who are the experts in the field of linguistics and language technologies.
The Institute of Optical Materials and Technologies is showing “Fairy Tale Optics”, and the Geological Institute is presenting the path of critical and strategic raw materials from ore to tailings. Scientists from the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of BAS will tell visitors about materials and technologies of the future.

On May 10 at 14:30 in COSMOS Hall, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tatyana Ilieva from CMRC will give a lecture with a presentation on “The Glagolitic script – between modern science and medieval mysticism”.
