The Bulgarian-Croatian cooperation in the field of history and humanities was presented at a forum held on 19 May at the National Library in Zagreb. The event was attended by Dr. Irina Ognyanova from the Institute of Balkan Studies of BAS.  At the forum, the “Croats and Bulgarians. Diplomacy, Politics, Culture and Science” collection published by the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts was also presented. The long-standing cooperation between the academies of sciences of the two countries was discussed during the event. For more than 28 years, a joint project between BAS and the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts has been going on within the framework of which forums on Bulgarian-Croatian relations have been organised in both countries and the reports published in a collection.

The event in Zagreb was attended by Dr. Damir Karbic, Head of the Institute of Historical and Social Sciences at the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts and by Dr. Tihana Luetić. The Ambassador of Bulgaria to Zagreb, H.E. Iva Kruleva, welcomed the participants.  Present were the Chairman of the National Community of Bulgarians in Croatia Mr. Raško Ivanov, the representative of the Bulgarians in Zagreb Mr. Pero Diankov, the Secretary-General of the Croatian-Bulgarian Society Ms. Diana Glasnova, representatives of the scientific community, students, representatives of the Bulgarian community and the diplomatic corps.
