Scientists from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences participated in a round table on “Financing the Stone – Fast-Tracking Projects”. The organizers of the forum which took place on 24 June in Sofia are the “National Committee of Bulgaria to the World Energy Council” association in cooperation with Nomad Energy Company and PRISM consortium.
The event aimed to outline the main challenges and prospects for the mining industry as well as to examine strategic scenarios for developing and ensuring energy security on a national and regional scale.
The Academy was represented by the Director of the Geological Institute at BAS, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Svetoslav Georgiev, and the Deputy Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dimitar Antonov. One of the keynote presentations was given by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Svetoslav Georgiev who was also the main coordinator of the “Critical and Strategic Raw Materials for Green Transition and Sustainable Development” NSP.
The forum was attended by H.E. Olesya Ilashchuk – Ambassador of Ukraine to Bulgaria, Zhecho Stankov – Minister of Energy, Valentin Nikolov – Chairman of the Association “National Committee of Bulgaria to the World Energy Council”, representatives of all major mining companies in Bulgaria, foreign diplomats and guests.
