The implementation of the “Sustainable Development of the Heritage BG Center of Excellence (CoE) project funded under the grant procedure “Sustainable Development of Centres of Excellence and Centres of Competence including specific infrastructures or their clusters from the National Roadmap for Research Infrastructure”, has started.
The lead organization of the project is Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” with partners:
National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography at BAS, University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, Technical University – Sofia, the “Vasil Levski” National Sports Academy, “St. Cyril and St. Methodius” University of Veliko Tarnovo, the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies with Ethnographic Museum at BAS, the Institute of Art Studies at BAS, the Institute of Balkan Studies & Centre of Thracology “Prof. Alexander Fol” at BAS, the Institute of Literature at BAS, the Cyrillo-Methodian Research Centre at BAS, the “Sts. Cyril and Methodius” National Library and the Regional History Museum – Sofia.
The thematic area targeted by the “Heritage BG” CoE is “New Technologies in the Creative and Recreative Industries”. It is the only centre of excellence with a humanitarian focus that also has an annual scientific conference and a periodical. With the funds from the first stage of funding, several laboratories have been built in BAS institutes and their infrastructure has significantly improved.
Building the @Heritage BG ecosystem is a complex, multi-layered and ongoing process that combines the application of the latest digital technologies and traditional heritage management approaches. More information at https://www.nasledstvo.bg/
