The first concert of the new season of the “MUSICORUM VIA. Two Academies – One Stage” initiative was held last night in the “Prof. Marin Drinov” Hall of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The Vice-President of BAS Prof. Emmanuel Moutafov and the Rector of the National Music Academy, Prof. Sava Dimitrov, opened the autumn-winter season of the initiative.
“MUSICORUM VIA has started this spring and is gradually finding its faithful audience. During the concerts, we enjoy the art of famous European composers, thus adding a special charm to the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences,” Prof. Moutafov said and added that the performances of the talented NMA graduates were a form of tribute to the great personalities who had led the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and were the foundation of Bulgarian statehood.
“We, as musicians, feel in the “Prof. Marin Drinov” Hall at a place where we can show what we can do, know and do for Bulgarian culture and education. A hall like this really obliges a lot – with the name it bears, it obliges also with the place where it is located, the Rector of the National Music Academy said. He announced that the concerts in the new season would be thematic as before.
The first concert was titled “The Way of the Musicians from NMA to BAS” and featured the “Pesante” trio, the soprano Plamena Georgieva and a piano duo composed of Sofia Chernishkova and Nikolay Marinov. The event was attended by the Director General of BTA Mr. Kiril Valchev, Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, the Vice-Rector of NMA Prof. Borislava Taneva, the Director of IBSCT-BAS Prof. Roumiana Preshlenova, scientists and other lovers of quality music.
