Fifty-seven scientists affiliated with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences are among the top two percent of top scientists in the world, according to this year’s ranking of scientists’ overall career development (known as the Stanford Ranking). Twenty of these scientists are academicians and corresponding members of BAS while the rest are professors at Academy institutes. The Stanford Ranking this year includes the names of a total of 91 Bulgarian researchers.

The ranking is compiled annually based on an analysis of the science metrics of around 11,000,000 scientists who have publications refereed in Scopus and reflects the impact that an individual researcher has had on the development of science.

A separate ranking is produced for scientific developments in the previous year. It also includes 5 BAS scientists who do not appear in the overall development ranking.

A list of BAS scientists in the two rankings can be found here.
