Assistant Professor Rumena Stancheva at the Institute of Polymers-BAS has won the “AQUACHIM” award of the Union of Chemists in Bulgaria for the “Best Thesis” defended in 2024 for the Master’s degree. Chemists and chemical engineers who graduated in the past academic year with the Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in various chemical specialties participated in the national competition.

The topic of the awarded thesis is “Polypiperazine-Based Micelles of Mixed Composition for Gene Delivery”. Scientific supervisors are Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emi Haladjova and Prof. Dr. Rayna Bryaskova, and consultant is Prof. Dr. Stanislav Rangelov.

The study has been carried out at the Institute of Polymers – BAS in collaboration with the Institute of Molecular Biology – BAS. The results are published in the Polymers international scientific journal and can be found at: https://doi.org/10.3390/polym16213100.
