The Vice-President of BAS Corr. Memb. Evdokia Pasheva attended the ceremony of awarding the winners of the John Atanasoff Award for 2025. The presidential initiative was held for the twenty-third time, and this year the awards were given to young talents in the field of informatics and information technology.

President Rumen Radev awarded deserving Bulgarian pupils – Olympic competitors in informatics and information technology, promising young visionaries who had developed projects with high public contribution as well as renowned teachers who had trained successful competitors and professionals in computer science.

“The authority of our country in the field of computer science and informatics has been built for decades with the dedication of several generations of wonderful scientists, leaders and young people who have given shape to this so important field for the progress of mankind,” the President said in his speech, adding that he believed that the achievements of that day were proof that Bulgaria would sustainably develop its traditions in the field of cutting-edge technologies, scientific research and intelligent solutions for the future.
