A concert-performance dedicated to Halloween was held on 27 October in “Prof. Marin Drinov” Hall. Participants were students and PhD students from “Pop and Jazz Singing”, “Classical Singing”, “Operetta and Musical” and “Music and Stage Direction” majors at the Vocal Faculty of “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” NMA from the “Acting” class of Prof. Dr Violeta Gorcheva, asst. Antonio Dachovski and asst. Stanislava Rizova.
“”Shadows’ Ball” is inspired by Halloween. It is our interpretation of the holiday. It includes operetta, jazz and pop songs from musicals which have a new story,” the director of the show, Prof. Gorcheva, said. She thanked BAS for the trust and the wonderful opportunity to have a creative adventure with students.
The musical performances were accompanied by the choreography of sen. asst. prof. Dr. Radoslav Radev, Monika Makaveeva, Emilia Gavrilova, Malena Shishkova and Michaela Genova. The performers were present in the entire space of the “Prof. Marin Drinov” Hall, singing and dancing among the audience. They were dressed in stage costumes depending on the role. Everything was accompanied by a piano, entrusted to the teachers Bogdana Popova and Joanna Tsvetkova.
After the loud applause at the end of the concert, the Vice-President of BAS Prof. Emmanuel Moutafov said that among the options discussed for the motto of the joint initiative of BAS and NMA was the motto “Let’s loose the Academy”, but in Latin. “With this performance, you have shaken the Academy loose today,” Prof. Moutafov said, congratulating the young talents.
