The chairman of the Forum for Combating Pseudoscience at BAS, Acad. Ivan Juhnovski, filed a report with the Bulgarian Drug Agency regarding the widespread sale in Bulgarian pharmacies of over 40 fake medicinal products manufactured by the Boiron homeopathic company. The report is supported by Academician Dr. Bogdan Petrunov, Corresponding Member Dr. Tsvetalina Tankova, Academician Christo Tsvetanov, Academician Ivan Zagorchev, Academician Ivan Ivanov, and Prof. Ivan Ivanov. Chemical tests on homeopathic sugar granules from the pharmacy network have established that the quantities of accompanying technological admixtures (inorganic salts and elements) contained in them are billions of times greater than the quantities of the same salts and elements indicated by the degree of dilution on the labels of homeopathic preparations with the same chemical formula. The information on the labels of this group of homeopathic preparations is false, misleading, and deceptive, and the preparations themselves are typical fake medicinal products that are practically not homeopathic.
The report calls for action in accordance with the Medicinal Products in Human Medicine Act, such as blocking and removing the aforementioned group of homeopathic preparations from sale.
