The Bulgarian Academy of Sciences awarded Prof. Dr. Stefan Ivanov, DMD, with a certificate and a badge of honor at a ceremony held in the “Academician Ivan E. Geshov” Hall of the Academy.
The award was presented for his overall contribution to dental materials science and the implementation of new scientific technologies in the field of dentistry as well as for his many years of teaching, said BAS President, Corresponding Member Evelina Slavcheva, who presented the award.
The ceremony was attended by the Vice-Presidents of BAS, Corr. Memb. Evdokia Pasheva and Prof. Emmanuel Moutafov, as well as colleagues, friends, and the family of Prof. Ivanov.
Corr. Memb. Evelina Slavcheva invited Prof. Stefan Ivanov to deliver a lecture at the Academy, noting that he was a lecturer, author of textbooks and patents who had dedicated his creative career to advancing dental medicine and served as an inspiring example for young people.
Prof. Stefan Ivanov expressed his gratitude for the prestigious award and spoke about his innovations and breakthroughs, his research and teaching work, and his commitment to imparting knowledge to students. During the ceremony, he donated copies of his books which would be available in the library of BAS.
