Scientists from leading universities and institutes in the Americas, Asia, and Europe participated in the fifth international conference “Numerical Methods for Scientific Computations and Advanced Applications” – NMSCAA’26. The forum took place from June 15 to 18 in Sozopol and was organized by the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies of BAS. The conference was opened by Corresponding Member Svetozar Margenov.
Traditionally, the topics covered included: modeling, simulation and optimization; multiscale and multiphysics problems; robust iterative methods and sparse matrix computation; fractional differential equations and non-local problems; parallel numerical methods and scalable algorithms; advanced applications in science and engineering.
The scientific program also included presentations on new areas of research, such as synergies between parallel numerical methods and algorithms and artificial intelligence methods, new approaches in computational linear algebra combining rigorous mathematical formulations and basis reduction methods, and hybrid approaches integrating high-performance computing and quantum algorithms.
Fourteen of the presented papers showcased results obtained as part of the research program of the “Center of Excellence for Informatics and Information and Communication Technology” project
