At the initiative of Prof. Emmanuel Moutafov, DSc, Vice-President of BAS, the necessary changes were made to the website, documentation, and procedures of the “Prof. Marin Drinov” Academic Publishing House in order to establish a partnership with Clarivate Analytics. The global analytics, data, and research company, also known simply as Clarivate, primarily maintains the Web of Science (WoS) – a platform for scientific journals and citations – and the Journal Citation Report (JCR) – an annual report on the influence of scientific journals through scientometrics, i.e., through the impact factor. Some of the journals published by BAS institutes are already indexed in the WoS system but through the established partnership between Clarivate and the “Prof. Marin Drinov” PH, the monitoring and evaluation of the Academic Publishing House’s publications will be indexed more successfully and quickly through its internationally recognized publisher.
All journals published by the Publishing House can be submitted via the Web of Science Publisher Portal for evaluation and indexing in the Web of Science. Scientific journals applying for indexing must meet the WoS quality criteria which are available here. As is well known, the evaluation of journals is a rigorous and lengthy process. For a journal to be successfully accepted, all 24 quality criteria must be met, which typically requires targeted collaboration with the editorial team of each journal as well as publication by the “Prof. Marin Drinov” PH.
Following the establishment of a partnership between Clarivate Analytics and the “Prof. Marin Drinov” PH, e-books and conference proceedings may also be submitted for indexing in the Web of Science. Clarivate also applies criteria for the indexing of books and proceedings which you can review at the following links:
The Publishing Council (SID) of the Executive Council of BAS and the “Prof. Marin Drinov” Publishing House recommend that, even before submitting their manuscripts for publication, scientists familiarize themselves with the criteria for indexing their articles, books, and anthologies in order to facilitate their successful evaluation. The same applies to the editorial boards of academic periodicals which are striving for indexing and increasingly rigorous scientometrics.
At the proposal of Academician Vasil Gyuzelev, supported by SID and pursuant to a unanimous decision of the Executive Council of BAS on June 29, 2026, the “Monumenta Bulgarica et Serdicensia” series is being established at the “Prof. Marin Drinov” PH. This series is expected to feature representative volumes dedicated to the most up-to-date research on significant monuments, architecture, epigraphy, and literature from the territory of Bulgaria and the Sofia region in particular. This initiative also aims to enhance the prestige of Bulgarian scholarship, establishing the Academic Publishing House as an increasingly renowned international publisher of volumes that are recognizable and sought after by readers.
