Joint initiatives were discussed by the President of BAS, Corresponding Member Evelina Slavcheva, and the Bulgarian ambassador to Slovakia, H.E. Snezhana Yoveva, during a working meeting held at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences today.

The President of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Dr Martin Venhart, visited BAS in July, said Corr. Memb. Slavcheva. During his meeting with representatives of the Academy, the “Science for Business” forum, organised annually by BAS, was presented, as was the collaboration between Bulgarian scientists and the business sector highlighted Corr. Memb. Evelina Slavcheva during the discussion. The idea of scientists from the Slovak Academy of Sciences to contribute with developments to next year’s edition of “Science for Business” was discussed at the meeting.

H.E. Snezhana Yoveva spoke about the scientific events organised in Slovakia, focusing in particular on the “Innovation Days” and the specialist exhibitions that promote Slovak products to the business community.

The opportunity for researchers from BAS to participate in the “Three Seas” initiative, the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Bulgarian studies in Slovakia, the European “Sts Cyril and Methodius Cultural Route” programme in which the Cyrillo-Methodian Research Centre of BAS is participating, and the organisation of an exhibition dedicated to the work of Cyril and Methodius to be displayed in both countries, were among the topics discussed.
