The President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member Evelina Slavcheva, and the President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Academician Isa Habibbayli, held a working meeting in Sofia. The main topic of discussion was the deepening of bilateral relations and the implementation of joint scientific projects in areas of priority for both countries. The partnership will focus on strengthening joint work in the fields of architecture, archaeology, ethnology, folklore, art history and other humanities disciplines. During the meeting, it was agreed to renew the existing framework agreement, and a new cooperation document between the two academic institutions is due to be signed.
The two sides agreed that the traditionally friendly relations between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan provide an excellent basis for a more active exchange of expertise, young professionals and scientific achievements.
The meeting was also attended by the Vice-President of BAS Prof. Emmanuel Moutafov, DSc, and the Scientific Secretary of the “Biodiversity, Bioresources and Ecology” Division, Prof. Ina Aneva.
