From 8 to 10 September 2026, the 35th Economic Forum took place in Karpacz, Poland. Founded by Zygmunt Berdychowski in 1992, the forum is the most significant socio-economic event in Central and Eastern Europe. Due to its scale and significance, it is often referred to as the “Davos of Eastern Europe”. This year’s edition was dedicated to the theme “The Architecture of the New Order – Stability in Times of Change”. Over 6,500 leaders from the worlds of politics, business, science, healthcare, education and culture took part. The programme included more than 500 panel discussions, lectures, workshops and accompanying cultural events. At the invitation of the Foundation Institute for Eastern Studies in Warsaw, Prof. Roumiana Preshlenova, Director of the Institute of Balkan Studies with the Centre for Thracology at BAS, took part in the event. She participated in the international panel on the topic “A Bridge between Markets: The Significance of South-Eastern Europe for the Continent’s Economy”.
