A framework agreement on cooperation between the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry was signed today by the presidents of the two institutions: Corresponding Member Evelina Slavcheva and Tsvetan Simeonov. The document provides for linking the research potential and infrastructure of BAS with the technological, production and investment needs of the enterprises represented by BCCI. The cooperation will focus on the practical application of scientific findings, accelerating the transfer of knowledge and technology, supporting innovation, digital and green transformation and establishing sustainable forms of interaction between science and business.

The Bulgarian Academy of Sciences aims to expand its presence in the regions and present its research to the business community, said Corr. Memb. Slavcheva. She added that the partnership with BCCI was vital for realising that vision and for linking the interests of local businesses with the Academy’s achievements.

In order to attract investment from small and medium-sized enterprises, it is important to propose specific projects. Such projects will be prepared through the joint efforts of the two institutions, said Tsvetan Simeonov, President of BCCI.

A drone with a multifunctional cargo compartment, developed with the assistance of scientists from the Institute of Mechanics, was cited as an example of successful cooperation between BAS and BCCI. The design has been registered as a utility model and is ready for implementation. Researchers from the Academy are also working with the business sector on the development of a drone with a hybrid propulsion system: a battery and a hydrogen fuel cell.

Рамковото споразумение беше подписано в БТПП в присъствието на директора на Единния център за иновации на БАН д-р Марин Пандев, координатора на Националната академична мрежа чл.-кор. Александър Костов и зам.-председателя на БТПП Васил Тодоров.
