The Cyrillo-Methodian Research Center at BAS, part of the consortium of the Center of Excellence “Heritage BG”, and the Association of Bulgarian Schools Abroad are organizing an international  competition “Traces of Cyril and Methodius’ work around the world”.  This joint initiative is part of the celebrations in 2023 on the occasion of the 1160th anniversary of the Slavonic script and aims to promote the work of Cyril and Methodius among Bulgarian migrant communities on all continents, to enrich the knowledge of students from Bulgarian Sunday schools abroad, to develop their talents and encourage their research interests.

There are 3 categories – a research project, an essay or short story on the topic “In their footsteps” and a drawing on the topic “Bulgarian alphabets”. TO THE PARTICIPANTS

Do you know how old Bulgarian letters become? And why are Cyril and Methodius called co-patrons of Europe?

In how many and in which countries is written in Cyrillic today? Why do they issue stamps with the face of Cyril and Methodius in Mozambique?

Look for the traces of Cyril and Methodius’ work around you, share your literary and artistic inspirations and take part in the international student contest “Traces of Cyril-Methodius’ work around the world”, organized by the Cyrillo-Methodian Science Center at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Association of Bulgarian Schools Abroad.
