The Vice-President of BAS Corr. Memb. Evdokiya Pasheva presented four prizes to young scientists who were awarded in the competition for the best publication in the field of humanities and social sciences, dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Nayden Gerov. Kalina Tomova from the Institute of Art Studies received first prize in the competition. The second prize was awarded to Darina Boykina from the Institute of Art Studies. The jury awarded two third prizes to Julia Popcheva from the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies and two young researchers from the National Archaeological Institute with Museum – Eva Tonkova and Veselina Dimitrova.

Each year the prizes are named after distinguished scientists of BAS as well as foreign members of the Academy, on the occasion of their jubilees.
