Seven demonstration models for the storage and use of clean energy for transport and households have been developed by scientists under the National Scientific Programme "Low Carbon Energy for Transport and Domestic Use" (EPLUS). The achievements were presented at a final information meeting of the programme which took place today at the “Prof. Marin Drinov” Hall of BAS. The head of the programme, Academician Konstantin Hadjiivanov, presented the activities of the scientific team, which includes 206 scientists and specialists from 16 partner organizations from all over the country. Dr. Daniela Doneva from the Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy has been awarded the Gustav Hertz Young Scientist Award of the German Physical Society for 2024. Dr. Doneva's scientific developments are in the field of cosmology. Her research is devoted to the study of black holes and neutron stars in generalized scalar-tensor theories of gravitation. Dr. Doneva acquired the scientific and educational degree "Doctor" at the Faculty of Physics of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" under the supervision of Corr. Memb. Stoycho Yazadzhiev. Since 2012, she has been working at the University of Tübingen, Germany. The Integrated Management System (IMS) of the Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy, certified in accordance with the international standards for quality EN ISO 9001:2015 and environment EN ISO 14001:2015, has been implemented in order to document, analyze and evaluate the policy and actions of the management in terms of meeting the requirements of the standards of the units included in the IMS. The fifth joint work meeting of the General Assembly and Advisory Board of the National Scientific Infrastructure for Energy Storage and Hydrogen Energy (NSI ESHER) project was held on 19 and 20 June at IEES-BAS.
