A letter-petition from the Assembly of Academicians and Corresponding Members of BAS for the termination of homeopathy teaching in vocational schools was handed over by the Chairman of the Forum against Pseudoscience at AACM Acad. Ivan Juhnovski to the Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Valchev.
“The recommendations of the leading scientific medical organizations in the world are to stop teaching the pseudoscience of “homeopathy”, to limit the distribution of homeopathic products and to conduct extensive explanatory work among the population about the futility and harm of treatment with such products. In the last two years, under the influence of the petitions of BAS scientists against the teaching of homeopathy in medical universities and on the decisions of the Rectors, the teaching of homeopathy at the Medical University-Sofia, Medical University-Plovdiv and Medical University-Pleven has been suspended,” the letter to Minister Valchev reads.
