The Vice President of BAS Corresponding Member Evdokia Pasheva met today at the Academy with a delegation from the Technology and Engineering Center for Space Utilization (CSU) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences – the leading organization responsible for the scientific program and operation of the China Space Station.
During the meeting, opportunities were discussed for developing scientific cooperation between the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Sciences as well as prospects for the participation of Bulgarian scientists in future scientific research and international initiatives related to the China Space Station.
The delegation included Prof. Ke Wang, Deputy Director General of CSU and Deputy Chief Designer of the Space Application System for the China Manned Space Program, Prof. Wei Zhang, Director of the Utilization Development Center and one of the main coordinators of the scientific program of the China Space Station as well as Ms. Miao Dong, Head of International Projects and Coordinator of International Cooperation at CSU.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Director of the Space Research and Technology Institute (SRTI) of BAS, Assoc. Prof. Simeon Asenovski, PhD. The visit to the Academy was organized by the Space Research and Technology Institute of BAS and took place following the participation of CSU representatives in the 18th International Conference “Solar Influences on the Magnetosphere, Ionosphere and Atmosphere” held in Primorsko. During the conference, the Chinese scientists presented current results and future plans for scientific research and international cooperation related to the Chinese Space Station.
